Minling Dorsem Cycle of Teachings
General presentation of the teachings
This text is called Minling Dorsem simply because it was discovered in 1667 by Terdak Lingpa, founder of the Mindrolling lineage.
Terdak Lingpa (1646-1714) in some of his previous incarnations was Ananda, at the time of the Buddha, his loyal disciple. And at the time of Padmasambava, when Guru Rinpoche introduced buddhist teachings in Tibet, Terdak Lingpa was the great translator Vairotsana. Terdak Lingpa discovered many minor and major texts.
In 1667, Terdak Lingpa was 31, when he discovered the very precious Vajrasattva cycle of teachings in a place called Okar Drak.
The profound Vajrasattva cycle of teachings is also called Ati Zabdön Le cycle des enseignements profonds de Varjasattva est également appelé Ati Zabdeun ou also known as the Profound Meaning of Ati.
This cycle of teachings was discovered by the terteun (treasure discoverer) Terdak Lingpa and the reason why we are today able to have a very detailed and richly commented text is because it has been compiled and commented by Lochen Dharmashri, Terdak Lingpa's yougest brother who was a great translator. Lochen Dharmashri was also a great master whose work allows us to have access to most of the texts and compilations, whether for the Mahamudra or the Dzogchen.
So this text was discovered by Terdak Lingpa and then compiled and commented by Lochen Dharmashri.
The access to this cycle of teachings, which started in 2004, is restricted to the people who have attended the teachings from the very beginning. Nevertheless, it is possible to join this cycle, depending on some criteria and after having filled in a questionnaire that you can ask Ani Drölma for contact@samtentse.asso.fr who will then transfer your request to Rinpoche. |
These teachings usually take place in Vajradhara-Ling
